Main Contactor: Bullock Construction
Various installations were undertaken at Leicester University’s, Charles Wilson Building including erection of floor gridding to service floor risers, erection of handrails and the erection of approximately 9 tonnes of curtain wall support steelwork. Erection of steels was undertaken in a limited working area, in a live university environment and on a working platform on-which loading was limited. Two of the larger members weighed nearly 3 tonnes alone. All members were temporary bolted prior to being site welded. Much of the operations were conducted out-of-hours to minimise disruption.
